I describe how the relaxion potential is highly non-generic and how the clockwork construction can be used to generate such a potential. I also discuss how the relaxion can be probed via its mixing with the Higgs in a variety of low energy experiments inlcuding fifth force , beam dump and flavour experiments and cosmological and astrophysical probes. Finally I will discuss some of my recent work where we use the relaxion mechanism to provide a unified solution to all SM hierarchies namely the Higgs mass hierarchy problem, the SM flavour puzzle and the strong CP problem.
