In this talk I will discuss properties of those hyperbolic 3-manifolds whose fundamental group can be generated by $k$ elements and which do not contain closed geodesics shorter than some fixed but otherwise arbitrary constant $\epsilon$. This is joint work with Ian Biringer.

This talk is part of the Differential Geometry and Topology Seminar series.
