Monochromatic products and sums in N and Q

We show that any finite coloring of Q contains monochromatic sets of the form x,y,x+y,xy as well as generalizations involving arithmetic progressions and many variables. We also prove analogous results for 2-colorings of N. This talk is partially based on upcoming work with Marcin Sabok.
