If you have a question about this talk, please contact Beth Romano. By an extension of the work of Barthel-Livne (Duke 1994) to a reductive p-adic group G, the classification of irreducible admissible representations of G modulo p (i.e. over a field of characteristic p) is reduced to the classification of supercuspidal – equivalently supersingular – ones (JAMS 2016), which remains a fundamental open problem. Its solution for GL(2,Q_p) by Breuil was essential for the p-adic local Langlands correspondence with 2-dimensional Galois representations by Colmez (Asterisque 2010). We will present recent results motivated by this question, due to Abe, Henniart-V., Herzig-Koziol-V., Grosse-Kloenne, Ollivier-V.. This talk is part of the Number Theory Seminar series.
