I will give an overview of recent joint work with S. Filippini and M. Garcia-Fernandez, in which we construct a rough but rigorous approximation of the four-dimensional tt*-connections of mathematical physics, and study two of their scaling limits. A first “conformal” limit recovers certain results of Joyce and Bridgeland-Toledano Laredo, while a different “large complex structure limit” relates to tropical curves in the plane and (thanks to work of Gross-Pandharipande-Siebert) to tropical/GW invariants.
