AdS/CFT allows us to study the confinement/deconfinement phase transition in strongly coupled gauge theories by considering solutions to Einstein’s equations with AdS asymptotics. Previous studies suggest that `plasma balls’ should exist above the deconfinement temperature. These are metastable localised lumps of deconfined plasma in the confining vacuum. In this talk, I will discuss the numerical construction of black holes space-times which are dual to the plasma balls and some of their physical properties.
