In order to make a connection between Khovanov homology and homotopy theory one may ask the following question: given a link L is it possible to build a space in some natural way whose homotopy type encodes the Khovanov homology of L? In this talk I will explain how
Khovanov homology can be expressed in terms of derived functors of the inverse limit which in turn allows for a homotopy theoretic description by way of homotopy limits.
