Three 2-categories

The objects of these categories are, respectively, small abelian categories, locally coherent Grothendieck categories and definable additive categories. I describe the equivalences between these, presenting a picture in the additive world, at least parts of which will be familiar from the non-additive context, which links together algebra, model theory and functor category theory.
