If you have a question about this talk, please contact Prahar Mitra. Soft scattering theorems motivate the inclusion of superrotations among the asymptotic symmetries of four-dimensional gravity at null infinity. For this purpose, the standard asymptotically flat boundary conditions must be relaxed. I will motivate the need of analysing these structures at spacelike infinity as well, and in higher dimensions in both asymptotic directions. In both cases the boundary conditions need to be reconsidered and the asymptotic structure of spacetime worked out from scratch. The analysis suggests previously unnoticed connections with standard AdS/CFT results, such as the relationship between anomalies of the field theory and the presence of logarithmic terms in the asymptotic expansion. Although at the moment these seem to be formal analogies, they can point towards fundamental features of holographic dualities in flat space and need to be explored further.
