We explain a relationship between modern SDG , and the theory of some metric spaces which was advanced by Busemann in the years 1943-1970 (and which he called, quite justified, “Synthetic Differential Geometry” !). Concretely, we give synthetic account of some 17th Century principles, due to Huygens.
