We explain a relationship between modern SDG , and the theory of some metric spaces which was advanced by Busemann in the years 19431970 (and which he called, quite justified, “Synthetic Differential Geometry” !). Concretely, we give synthetic account of some 17th Century principles, due to Huygens.
