Let A be a symmetric algebra over a field of positive characteristic. Then the Hochschild cohomology of degree 1 of A is a restricted Lie algebra. I am going to show that in general the p-power map doesn’t commute with the transfer map. In addition we will see under which hypothesis we can have the commutativity of these two maps.
