If you have a question about this talk, please contact Christopher Brookes. Four years ago Wadsley proved that pseudo-null modules of Iwasawa algebras of finite-by-nilpotent pro-p groups had trivial Euler characteristic. Following this, he proposed a conjecture on the Euler characteristics of modules of low dimension. In this talk we shall give the background to this conjecture, including a brief overview of these algebras, discuss problems that arise in trying to generalise Wadsley’s methods to the soluble case, and describe what can be said after we have navigated them.
