The category of modules for a (possibly non-commutative) Iwasawa algebra comes equipped with a natural dimension function. We will discuss this dimension function and new work with Konstantin Ardakov in the case when the associated group is of split-semisimple type. The proof of our main result uses a rigid analytic version of the Beilinson-Bernstein localisation theorem.
