In this talk I will describe some recent results on boson stars and related objects. In particular I will concentrate on the so called l-boson stars which are objects formed by an odd number of massive scalar fields, each with the same angular momentum number l but different projections, so that the full stress-energy tensor is spherically symmetric. I will also consider electrically charged boson stars and discuss some of their most important properties.

This talk is part of the DAMTP Friday GR Seminar series.
