As a counterpart to Robert Spencer’s talk on the (new) algebraic proof of the Kazhdan-Lusztig conjecture, I will present the (old) geometric approaches due to Kazhdan-Lusztig, Beilinson-Bernstein-Brylinski-Kashiwara, MacPherson-Springer and Haines.

This talk is part of the Junior Algebra and Number Theory seminar series.
