The Foulkes characters for the symmetric group will be constructed geometrically and generalized to a large family of reflection groups. Classic (type A) results due to Foulkes, Kerber-Thürlings, Diaconis-Fulman, and Isaacs will be elucidated and extended to other types. A new property in type B will be presented. New geometric and enumerative results will be presented. Some other new results will be presented if there is time.

This talk is part of the Algebra and Representation Theory Seminar series.
