Let G be a virtually nilpotent compact p-adic analytic group and k a finite field of characteristic p. Is the Iwasawa algebra kG catenary? In this talk, I will discuss an answer to this question (in the affirmative), in particular the role of orbitally sound groups and an understanding of the quotients of kG by its minimal primes.
