I’ll be speaking about joint work with Anthony Ashton on a new numerical approach for finding Dirichlet eigenvalues of the Laplacian on polygonal domains. These ideas follow from the unified method of Fokas, and in addition by utilising analyticity of our functions, we arrive at both theoretical and numerical results. In recent work two numerical methods are proposed which I hope to briefly describe, and finally I am keen to present some of our most recent test cases.
