In the paper “4d wall crossing via 3d field theory”, Gaiotto, Moore, and Neitzke outline a method for associating a hyperkahler manifold to a quiver with potential. The crucial ingredient is the Kontsevich-Soibelman wall-crossing formula for Donaldson-Thomas invariants. Although their construction has not yet been made mathematically rigorous, I will try to sketch the general picture, and show how it works in some particular examples.
