We will show how Donaldson’s construction of symplectic Lefschetz pencils on closed integral symplectic manifolds can be adapted to obtain, on any Stein domain, symplectic Lefschetz fibrations over the disc which are asymptotically unique up to stabilisation by positive Lagrangian plumbings.
