If you have a question about this talk, please contact Ailsa Keating. Please note the unusual time and place. (This is part I of a series of two talks.) I will explain how to recover some interesting derived categories of coherent sheaves as Fukaya categories of an annulus relative to a collection of marked points. This allows one to see certain features like braid group actions on these categories easily. Slicing the annulus open along a radius also gives a nice A-side description for the derived contraction algebra of a compound A_n singularity. (Joint with YankI Lekili.)
