In this talk, I will present upcoming work proving a “weak turbulent” instability for quasilinear wave equations on Schwarzschild-AdS black holes. The instability is governed by a stably trapped 3-mode interaction transferring energy from low-to high-frequency modes. Our result is motivated by the question of the stability of black holes in the presence of a negative cosmological constant. This is joint work with Georgios Moschidis (EPFL).
