If you have a question about this talk, please contact Christopher Brookes. Let g be the general linear Lie algebra over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic. The crucial representations of g to understand are those associated to the reduced enveloping algebras U_e (g) for a nilpotent element e in g. We explain how the representations of U_e (g) can be studied via representations of restricted truncated shifted Yangians. Then we present some consequences, in particular to the case where e is a two-row nilpotent. This talk is part of the Algebra and Representation Theory Seminar series.
