If you have a question about this talk, please contact Jack Thorne. Each regular algebraic, conjugate self-dual, cuspidal automorphic representation of GL(n) over a CM number field has an associated continuous l-adic Galois representation. In this talk, I’ll explain how to construct congruences between the direct sum of two such Galois representations and some Galois representation associated to a cuspidal automorphic representation of GL(2n). The construction is conditional on the endoscopic classification of automorphic representations of inner forms of unitary groups, announced by Kaletha, Minguez, Shin and White.
