FOSW01 - The nature of questions arising in court that can be addressed via probability and statistical methods
One method for communicating likelihood ratios is to use words to express ranges of values. I shall look at the development of these recommendations, and make comparisons with other areas in which similar proposals have been made for communicating probabilities or risks using words, such as climate change and drug safety, and how these have been interpreted by audiences.
