In this talk we will present an analysis of a unitarily invariant random matrix model with a polynomial potential that is a cubic perturbation of the standard Gaussian case (GUE). The asymptotic study of the corresponding partition function and free energy can be carried out using orthogonal polynomials defined on suitable contours in the complex plane.

This is a joint work with Pavel Bleher and Maxim Yattselev (Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, US)
