Skills Talk: A few introductory topics in typography, Jonathan Davies

This presentation will describe computerised typesetting and introduce a few topics in typography which are particularly pertinent to researchers writing papers and theses.

Research Talk: MIMO in academia and MIMO in the industry, Francisco Monteiro

The talk will re-introduce the problems arising in multiple-input multiple-output wireless systems and will summarize some of the main ideas in current research. The talk will also attempt give some perspectives on how MIMO is perceived by people in industry and on the near future its implementation in wireless communication devices.
