Computing is a crucial weapon in our armoury for ensuring the future of
the planet. Computing will play a key part in optimising use of physical
resources and ultimately their substitution by the digital world.
The speaker will describe a number of technologies and experimental
computer systems which generate and use sensor information. Such
systems present opportunities for analysis and optimisation. Feedback
to users will be discussed as will the dilemmas of privacy and surveillance.
