The titled subject will be reviewed from the perspectives of stochasticity – on one hand, and non-probabilistic analyses on the other. In light of the famous statement of immortal non-existent Sherlock Holmes “Data! Data! Data! I cannot make bricks without clay!”, the emphasis is placed on the role the data plays in choosing the suitable Uncertainty quantification technique.
