In this talk I will discuss my research on the deformation theory of complex submanifolds. I hope to cover: what is a complex (sub)manifold, what is a deformation, why would we want to deform a complex submanifold and how do we deform a complex submanifold. The talk will be accessible to those with no background in differential geometry.
