I will talk about our work on “Purifications of multipartite states: limitations and constructive methods” New J. Phys. 2013 15 123021 (http://iopscience.iop.org/1367-2630/15/12/123021). I will emphasize the connections to other fields, such as communication complexity or convex optimization, and will also highlight some open problems.
