From 2016, it will be the UK Government’s mandatory requirement that level 2 Building Information Modelling (BIM) will be required on all public sector contracts. A number of companies have already adopted BIM and are realising the benefits. However a significant proportion of companies especially contractors and SME ’s remain uncertain about the requirements, costs and practical implications of BIM .
BIM is claimed to be the most important development in the industry for a very long time. However, there is a lot confusion and lack of understanding about what a BIM -driven project actually entails and its impact on all the key stakeholders. This seminar will present the UK Government’s requirements for 2016 before examining the key issues in BIM -driven project delivery .
