Semantics and Syntax: A Legacy of Alan Turing

The presentation will explore chip card payment systems based on the EMV specifications and their use of and reliance on cryptography. The presentation will begin by reviewing some earlier forms of card payments and then move on to a more detailed analysis of the cryptographic methods used in today’s systems and those that may be deployed in the future.
