We will give an overview of the self-similar behavior of Smoluchowski’s coagulation equation, including well-known results for the explicitly solvable cases, as well as some more recent ones on the spectral gap for the constant kernel, and the shape of profiles for other homogeneous kernels. We will also describe many related open problems. Some of the results mentioned in this talk are joint works with S. Mischler and C. Mouhot.

This talk is part of the Applied and Computational Analysis Graduate Seminar series.
