Abstract
In this RCC we give an introduction to information Retrieval from the perspective of creating a search engine. We will step through the crawling, indexing, query processing, retrieval and evaluation components of a search engine.
A good reference for this talk is the book “Introduction to Information Retrieval” by Christopher D. Manning, Prabhakar Raghavan and Hinrich Schütze available online
