The aim of this technical talk is to introduce students to the type of work that many of the world’s largest companies spend most of their IT budgets doing. We’ll introduce a simple “Internet of Things” data processing pipeline (along with two white cats) and then discuss the challenges involved in designing a more complex, elastic solution that’s capable of processing billions of transactions every hour.
