The Department of Genetics is celebrating 100 years of Prof. RA Fisher at Cambridge. Prof. RA Fisher a renowned statistician, geneticist, and evolutionary biologist started as a student at Gonville and Caius College in 1909 and held the Balfour Professorship at the Department of Genetics (1943-1957).
To mark the occasion, a day long exhibition will be set up at the Genetics department library. The exhibition will be opened at 10 am with a short talk by Prof. AWF Edwards, a Fisher scholar, with a brief introduction to the exhibits including Fisher’s medals, books, handwritten notes and published articles. This event is open to the general public.
