MWSW04 - Multiple scattering in engineering and applied sciences In this talk we will analyze several structures for the localization of flexural waves in thin elastic plates. These structures will be made of clusters of scatterers or inclusions attached to a plate, and multiple scattering theory will be applied for their study. We will show how this theory can be effectively used for the analysis of random, periodic or quasi-periodic distribution of scatterers. In the case of finite clusters of scatterers, we can show how to use this theory to analyze the quality of the resonant modes resulting from the localization of waves. Finally, we will discuss how to extend this theory to more complicated scatterers and waves. This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
