The talk will cover some of the projects in which Fernando has worked in the last three years and half in COWI . From the assessment and strengthening of the West Gate Bridge and the extension of EJ Whitten Bridge, to a design competition of a footbridge in Zurich, the presentation will focus on the challenges encountered in each project. A special attention will be paid to the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, currently under construction, which will set a new record for the longest span with 2023 m. This suspension bridge spans the Dardanelles in Turkey and is planned to be completed in 2023.
