If you have a question about this talk, please contact Renato Velozo.

The goal of this talk is to give a brief introduction to some aspects of the theory of semi-simple Lie groups and its links to ergodic theory. In particular, I will explain a result due to A.Eskin and C.McMullen about counting integral points on homogeneous varieties of negative curvature. To do so, I will talk about various decompositions, mixing and the Howe-Moore property.

This talk is part of the Cambridge Analysts' Knowledge Exchange series.
