Situated at the intersection of research and practice, the core expertise of the Foster + Partners’ Specialist Modelling Group is working with building physics and complex geometry. By questioning contemporary architectural design problem solving and reimagining solutions, the group brings the latest research and technology methods to construction industry applications. Over the past few years, the team has been engaged with extra-planetary habitat research, a multi-disciplinary quest that includes specialists from advanced additive manufacturing, structural performance, material science to comfort, adaptability and computational systems. Miriam will showcase some of the practice’s most cutting-edge work that is influencing Space research on a global scale.
