CATW04 - Complex analysis: techniques, applications and computations - perspectives in 2023

Matched asymptotic expansions and related techniques will be used to study the dynamics of complex singularities of solutions to some nonlinear pdes. Examples of advection-diffusion, reaction-diffusion and/dispersive equations will be chosen to illustrate the main ideas. The focus will be on understanding how singularities are born at $t=0^+$ and following their trajectories for $t>0$, especially the singularity closest to the real axis. Supporting numerical solutions will be presented where possible.
