If you have a question about this talk, please contact Maurice Chiodo.
The talk will survey several weak forms of amenability for discrete groups that come up when studying group C*-algebras. While these properties are primarily of interest to operator algebraists, to prove that a given group possesses one or more of these properties generally requires geometric data. I will try to convey the flavor of these arguments by working through several examples.
This talk is part of the Geometric Group Theory (GGT) Seminar series.
