If you have a question about this talk, please contact Yongjiang Shi. Chander Velu is going to share his recent research and thoughts about business model researches. Chander Velu is University Lecturer in Economics of Industrial Systems at the Institute for Manufacturing. His research is primarily on innovation and technology management with a specific focus on exploring the antecedents and consequences of business model innovation. He heads IfM’s Business Model Innovation Research Programme. Chander will provide a brief overview of the recently released Business Model Innovation White Paper, developed jointly by the University of Cambridge and the University of Exeter. The White Paper is part of the ESRC Business Model Workshop seminar series involving seven UK Universities. Chander will also discuss a research paper that provides a systems perspective on business model evolution. This paper explores how organizational capabilities of a firm drawn from the systems thinking literature enables business model evolution. The research is based on examining the development of a new firm that provides mobile phone-based information services for farmers in India.
