We start the talk with a short introduction to homological stability. For the example of moduli spaces of high dimensional manifolds we will see a way to relate this geometric setting to an algebraic one. Using a generalisation on the algebraic site we can then improve the homological stability theorem, which in the version proven by Galatius—Randal-Williams just holds for simply-connected manifolds, to a much larger class of manifolds.
