Irmin is a library to persist and synchronise distributed data-structures. Each process has a local copy of the data and can modify it, fork or merge it with other versions. Currently the user has to provide a three-way merge function for each new structure, but it is not clear what is required from it. We tried to define the semantics of such mergeable data-structures, and then explore some systematic merge strategies.
