If you have a question about this talk, please contact Peter Sewell.

In this talk I will give an overview of work we have been doing at the University of Kent to understand memory model performance. Two broad topics will be covered: (1) Our methods for establishing benchmarks for memory model performance/impact in the Linux Kernel and Hotspot JVM . (2) Tuning litmus tests to perturb interesting behaviour on modern architectures with a view to building microbenchmarks from litmus tests.

I will be around for extended discussion before and after the talk.

This talk is part of the REMS lunch series.
