In this talk I will discuss the design of a complex event processing language for pervasive computing applications.
The language is to be used as part of a framework for detecting complex events in heterogeneous sensor networks.
Processing is performed in a distributed fashion in order to
reduce communications. Simple expressions are computed
at sensor nodes, but more complex expressions are deployed at base stations. New subscriptions must thus be analysed to
determine how to safely deploy them in an optimal fashion.
