In our projects, we view accessibility requirements as a proxy for the general problems of constructing user software. In order to promote collaborative authoring amongst groups comprising very different worldviews and preferred ways of working, we need to construct new substrates for the tasks of software engineering. These substrates will allow for easier alignment between different expressions of the same artefact, whether in visual, non-visual or traditional textual form. In this category, I’ll talk particularly about Flocking, an environment from Colin Clark for audio synthesis on the web.

This talk is part of the Rainbow Group Seminars series.
