If you have a question about this talk, please contact Laurent Simon. Abstract: Raytheon is building a cyber eco-system of SMEs, academia, technology incubators and VCs. An open and transparent collaborative culture of working is being encouraged to ensure agile, innovative and dynamic solutions for the benefit of customers and the members of the eco-system. The presentation describes what has been built, and the approach being taken. It will describe some of the mechanisms being employed to develop the eco-system including investments, calls for research projects, mentoring, workshop events, introductions, etc. Examples of some of the research responses will be shared along with general thoughts about areas of interest. Bio: John started his career as a software engineer developing a variety of Computer Aided Design (CAD) programmes, in particular micoprogramme cross compilers, high level logic simulators and Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM) tools. However, the majority of his 40 year career has been associated with defence and information security. He has worked for most of the major prime contractors, but also set up his own small business centred on biometric authentication. He has provided technical and management consultancy on business strategy and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). This talk is part of the Computer Laboratory Security Group meeting presentations series.
